About Me

Hello and Welcome to "Life in This Place!"  I am so grateful for each and every one of you who reads my words.  Thank you so very much for joining me at "Life in This Place!"

Well, I am a Mostly Stay-at-Home mom to my Mostly Wonderful half dozen children, whom are Mostly self directed in their home education.  My Fantastic Husband and I Mostly own an Awesome restaurant where he works Mostly all the time and where you can find me occasionally, doing what I love, Serving Others.

Other things, off the top of my head, that interest me are gardening, composting, vermicomposting (I love my worms,) the soil food web, permaculture, cooking, fermenting, food as medicine, crocheting, drawing, painting, singing, Young Living Essential Oils….  There really is no end to my interests.  If I were to choose one interest above all the others it would be Learning!  I want to know everything about everything!

My dream is to have an acreage where I can raise kids and chickens and maybe a cow…or two, and a pig?  Huge compost piles where I would run all the restaurant scraps through my compost worms.  (Well, if I had a pig, I’d run the scraps through the pig then I’d run what comes out of the pig through my worms.)  I’d love to have a greenhouse where I could grow all the fresh greens for my restaurant and I would love to serve unpasteurized Ferments there as well.  I  need to look into the legalities for all of that.

AND my really big dream is to Teach People how to grow their own food in the space they already have.  Balconies, backyards (even front yards) and rooftop all through the city, coved in pots and rain gutters, growing food!  It would be awesome to have permission to take empty spaces around the city to put up greenhouses to grow in the winter, heated using Rocket Stoves, and gardens to grow food for the summer.  (What about some Tiny Houses to home the homeless on these same lots where they could live and work…or not.)  Chickens in every backyard to end the food waste and convert it into eggs and compost to use in the garden.  To plant food forests where people could just pick what they need.  Bio generators and DIY wind turbines to power everything and to teach others how to power their homes with DIY technologies.  Aquaponics and Permaculture everywhere and everywhere people learning and teaching, working and creating.

…sigh…

The last, and most important, thing I’ll say is that I love Jesus…but feel like I’m always failing Him.  Thank goodness His mercies are new every morning. I need all I can get.
